Suited to those looking to spend more time exploring the Peninsula while avoiding the turbulent and time consuming Drake Passage crossing. All of the three boats that operate this itinerary, The Ocean Nova, the luxurious Hebridean Sky and the sleek Sea Adventurer are equipped with a fleet of zodiacs and an onboard expedition team meaning passengers will still get the chance to explore onshore and will be engaged and informed throughout their trip. In our eyes, this itinerary gives you the best of both worlds - allowing you to enjoy a shorter cruise without having to compromise on exploring opportunities.

DAY
1

Punta Arenas

Arrive in Punta Arenas from Santiago, Chile you will be met and transferred to your hotel to stay for the night on a B&B basis. In the afternoon you will be met by the ships crew for an in depth briefing on the itinerary and the recommendations for travel to Antarctica. Later on that evening you will gather for a welcome dinner to meet your fellow explorers!

DAY
2

King George Island

Transferred first thing to the airport in time for the two hour flight to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands. You will be met on arrival to spend a couple of hours exploring the mainland, Chile’s Frei Research Station and Russia’s Bellingshausen station, before boarding a Zodiac to embark the expedition ship for your first night "under sail".

DAY
3-6

South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula

This morning you will set sail in earnest for the shores of the white continent. Sailing out from the South Shetland Islands towards the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, you will glide alongside ice-filled fjords and among stunning icebergs, accompanied by sea birds, penguins, seals and whales.

Each day you will have the opportunity to attend informative and engaging lectures or presentations about the area on-board or disembark the cruise vessel by zodiac and explore onshore with expert polar guides. Those after some adventure have the opportunity to go kayaking or snowshoeing on land. (these activities get booked a long way in advance and so are recommended to book as soon as possible)

Depending on weather conditions and nature opportunities available visit a range of Islands including Paulet Island, Hope Bay, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, Deception Island and the Lemaire Channel, among others.

DAY
7

King George Island

Your last day in the region will take you back to King George Island where you will be taken back to the flight back to Punta Arenas. Met on arrival and transferred back to your hotel to stay for the night. (B&B)

DAY
